Go to the data directory in the game folder and edit the proto.xml file using a text editor. Make sure that the file is not set to ‘Read only’ by checking its properties in Windows Explorer. Look for text that contains the word ‘Createof’ and you will end up with a long list that covers everything from food, money and wood. Go to the ‘InitialResourceCount’ tag and change the count to as high a number as you want and that the amount that each unit will have!

Go to the My DocumentsMy GamesAge of Empires 3Savegame and open the sp_yourcityname_homecity.xml file. Once there, search for ‘’ and you will find ‘xx’. Simple replace the xx here with 99. What does this trick do? It makes your level 99!
